Evocative Nawabi Canvas: Hailing from the culturally rich town of Hyderabad, she’s often been inspired by the Nawabi influences – from their ornate high jewelry collections to larger-than-life closets. These heritage and historical influences steeped in symbolism and savoir-faire have unfailingly nourished each of her collections.
And not surprisingly, her latest collection comprising approximately 40 seminal looks is a soul-searing Nizami canvas where heritage textiles have a conversation with antique motifs. It’s like revisiting a time in India’s regal past where luxury was synonymous with dexterous hand-done work, sartorial finesse and an unquestioning allegiance to slow fashion. Jayanti Reddy’s India Couture Week collection is a cornucopia of culture and color, couture and poetry. A symbiosis where traditional embroideries are informed by the royals of Hyderabad and their unapologetic lavish lifestyles.
