The Body Shop Launches New Campaign Film Starring Mandira Bedi, Sumedh Vasudev Mudgalkar, and Diksha Singh

Campaign Link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUbJtCMGqz0 The Body Shop, a British-born international ethical beauty brand, celebrates its 50th anniversary with the launch of its new campaign film “Rebellious by Nature,” featuring actors Mandira Bedi, Sumedh Vasudev Mudgalkar, and Diksha Singh, each a rebel in their own right, on screen and off it. Rooted in the brand’s long-standing activist DNA, the campaign brings to life its philosophy of fearless self-expression, individuality, and purpose-led beauty. More than a commemoration of its anniversary, the campaign is a strategic reaffirmation: the values centred on ethical action, product innovation, and cultural relevance, the ones that built The Body Shop half a century ago, are what will carry it forward. The film features actors Mandira Bedi, an Indian actor, and one of the first female presenters during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003, she challenged the male-dominated sports broadcasting space and proved that expertise has no gender. Sumedh Vasudev Mudgalkar, an Indian film, television actor and a dancer, noted for taking on roles that tested his limits, suggesting a defiance of playing stereotypical characters; and Diksha Singh, a former Miss India finalist who made national headlines when she chose to step beyond the conventional glamour path and contest Zila Parishad elections in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. The brand as always rooted in the philosophy, of being “Rebellious by Nature”, the film signifies how unsolicited advice is something that people have been absorbing for too long, and now they’ve become acutely aware to follow their own path and voices. Through this campaign, The Body Shop is simply stating that individuality is never up for debate, and it will never be.  With a Hinglish (Hindi+English) voiceover, the film ultimately builds to a simple question that is bound to stay with the audience: if nature has never followed anyone’s instructions, why should you? The tagline, “Ban the Gyaan,” says the rest. The campaign spotlights three of India’s Most Loved – The Body Shop iconic products: Edelweiss Serum: For skin that thrives, not just survives British Rose Body Butter: Floral, fragrant and love-fuelled Ginger Shampoo: The zingy haircare hero “There’s something extraordinary about a flower that blooms at 3,000 metres, where the air is thin, the conditions brutal, and nothing grows easily. The Edelweiss doesn’t survive despite its environment. It thrives because of it. That’s the kind of woman I’ve always wanted to be. The Body Shop ‘Rebellious by Nature’ campaign isn’t about rebellion for the sake of it, it’s about owning your choices, your skin, and your story,” said Mandira Bedi. Adding to this, Sumedh Vasudev Mudgalkar said, “Nature never apologises for existing, it simply does, fully and without hesitation. That idea resonated with me deeply. The Body Shop’s Ginger Shampoo doesn’t try to be something it isn’t. It’s rooted, real, and quietly powerful, just like the choices we make for ourselves when we stop listening to what everyone else thinks we should do.” “There’s always pressure to follow a certain path, especially in the beauty space. For me, it’s been about choosing purpose and staying true to who I am. I love how the British Rose range is shown as part of a simple, personal ritual, it’s joyful, honest, and completely your own.,” shared Diksha Singh. Commenting on the milestone, Rahul Shanker, Group CEO, Quest Retail & House of Beauty, said, “Rebellious by Nature is who we are at our core – bold, fearless, and unapologetically joyful. As we mark 50 years, this is not just a celebration of our legacy, but a defining moment to reimagine our future. With a sharper focus on innovation, retail expansion, and deeper consumer engagement, we are committed to building The Body Shop for the next generation. This milestone also reflects our ambition to strengthen our presence across India, bringing our purpose-led, ethical beauty offerings closer to consumers while staying true to the values that have always set us apart.” Adding to this, Harmeet Singh, Chief Brand Officer, The Body Shop Asia South, said, “Rebellious by Nature’ isn’t a campaign for us, it’s a refusal to conform. For 50 years, we’ve challenged what beauty should look like, how it should behave, and who gets to define it. With #BanTheGyaan, we’re calling time on outdated rules and unsolicited opinions. The future of beauty is personal, purposeful, and unapologetically your own and we’re building exactly that for the next generation.” The campaign is set to roll out across a full ecosystem of touchpoints. Alongside the hero film, a series of digital-first assets and mini films will run across social and digital platforms, supported by creator collaborations and in-store activations. Self Confidence is a Super Power : PAM SURI, Empress of Entertainment UK

Pam Suri is described as a multi-faceted entrepreneur who balances roles as an event organiser, weight loss consultant, and positive thinker. She has been recognized for her ability to create warm, glamorous atmospheres with flawless organization, recently receiving personal praise from attendees of the ISMA 2026 awards for her vision and dedication.   She is known for her “wild imagination” and ability to curate luxury events that feature grand entrances (such as limousines) and professional media coverage.   A glamorous entrepreneur at the centre of her own entertainment empire, she arrived in UK at the age of 35 from Kenya. For her it was a bit of a culture shock, but at the same time it transformed her into the formidable businesswoman she is today.   Now 65, Mrs Suri was born in Nairobi, Kenya where she enjoyed a comfortable and somewhat idyllic childhood – a ‘simple’ middle-class life ‘full of love and happiness.’   As she says “In the beginning it was really a nightmare. For two years I couldn’t understand the way of life here and everybody thought I would go back to Nairobi,” she reveals.   “My biggest challenge was to adapt myself to this country and to learn how to be independent. I had never ever worked in Nairobi. I didn’t know how to drive because we had drivers there and we had servants to do everything. So my biggest challenge was to be an independent person, which I’d never been in Nairobi.”   Pam learned how to drive and set about looking for work, securing a job as a receptionist at Sunrise Radio.   “I’ve always been a very ambitious person and I like to be rich and famous. I like the name/fame game,” she admits.   “I always believed the sky’s the limit for me. I don’t give up. When I encounter a problem I look for the solution. Everyone faces ups and downs in life, but the thing is be positive and believe in yourself, which I do.”   Mrs Suri set about losing weight and trained to become a weight-loss consultant. It was the first taste of being her own boss and it was a taste she certainly enjoyed…   But entertainment was where her true passions lay, and so she decided to dip her toe into this glamorous world – a world where she sparkles and is now fully submerged.   “My profession is my passion,” she says.   “I always give variety to my people and take the advice of my regular clients. If you look after your customers, no matter what you do they always support you,” she goes on to reveal.   “I’m thankful for all my clients and all my supporters who are always there for me.   After each show people come to me and say ‘Pam this is your best show’. Then my next show comes and they say; ‘no, this is your best show!”   Founder of Pam Suri Productions; it is a boutique event management and promotion company based in the United Kingdom, specializing in high-end Bollywood-themed entertainment, award shows, and cultural celebrations. Pam Suri, often referred to as the “Empress of Entertainment,” has established herself as a prominent figure in the British-Asian entertainment circuit. The production house focuses on creating immersive experiences described as “Events Beyond Your Imagination”.   Talent Promotion: The company frequently collaborates with international talent, singers, and digital creators to bridge the gap between traditional Bollywood glamour and modern social media influence.   It is clear that Pam thrives within her role as ‘the hostess with the hostess.’ Even as a grandma at the age of 63, she shows no signs of slowing down as she glows with the vibrant energy of someone half her age.   As she adds further, “Happiness and good health has a lot to do with it along with excellent time-management.”   “They say happiness is all in the mind – it all depends on how you think and I think I’m a very happy person. I make people happy and my experience of living in the UK has been wonderful.   “I’ve met wonderful people, wonderful professions and I’ve made a name for myself, which I feel very proud of,” she reveals.   “In Nairobi I was just a housewife, but now people know me as Pam Suri.   “I worked hard to be where I am today. People look at me and see all the glitz and glamour, but behind the scenes is a lot of hard work,” she adds. “It’s my life – it’s my passion and I’m lucky to have enjoyed success on this wonderful journey.”   Just like a super star she concludes by saying, ” Live and enjoy every moment as kya pata kal ho na ho! ”   Follow her work @pamsuriproductions

Rani – A Life of Purpose, Power and People

Rani is a respected entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a vibrant force in community advocacy. With over 30 years of experience as a successful businesswoman and a mother of two, Rani has spent her life not only building a legacy of leadership, but also creating impact through compassion, connection, and fearless giving. A proud British South Asian woman, Rani has led numerous charitable initiatives that support families and individuals across communities — especially those affected by health conditions like blood cancers and tumors, who often go unseen or unsupported. She has dedicated herself to serving the South Asian community, while also working closely with African and other diaspora communities, building unity through shared understanding and love.     What truly sets Rani apart is her unwavering belief in giving without expectation. For her, the real reward lies in the blessings that come from lifting others. She carries forward the wisdom of her late father — a man she calls her legend — and believes deeply in service, kindness, and standing up for those who can’t always stand for themselves.     Her father Avtar Singh was more than a gifted musician—he was a pillar of the community and a guiding light to many. With a deep love for the tabla and harmonium, he used music not only as a form of expression but as a powerful tool to connect, heal, and uplift. Whether mentoring young people in their spiritual journeys or nurturing their passion for music, his impact was profound and lasting. He had the honour of appearing on television several times, but his true spotlight was the respect and love he earned from those whose lives he touched. To me, he was everything—my inspiration, my foundation. Though he’s no longer with us, his spirit lives on in every note, every lesson, and every life he influenced. I carry his legacy forward with pride and gratitude.   Rani is also a passionate advocate for mental health, especially within communities where stigma still exists. She knows firsthand how vital it is to talk, to heal, and to support one another through life’s challenges. Her life’s mantra — “Fear is what if. Faith is even if.” — reflects her bold yet gentle spirit, encouraging others to choose belief over doubt, love over fear.   To the young women reading this: Rani wants you to know that you always have a choice — you just have to use your voice. Your voice is your power. Whether you’re navigating school, career, identity, or mental health, know this — you matter. Your story matters. And your kindness, your strength, your ideas, and your empathy have the power to change lives. No matter where you come from or what you’ve faced, you are enough — and you are capable of greatness. Rani’s message is clear: Be fearless in compassion, bold in action, and always lead with love.   “Let this book be a light for you — a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can shape the future. Lift as you rise, speak with purpose, and always leave the world better than you found it. The next generation is watching — show them what true strength looks like.”

FROM A HOMEMAKER TO MRS. INDIA HOMEMAKER SHWETA SHARMA

“If you dream about something then go for it and success will automatically come your way”   When I was a child it was my dream to become something and acquire a higher education but due to the financial crisis I just completed my post graduation and got married at a very early age. After my marriage, I was engrossed into my family as then I was a mother of two daughters. Eventually I tried to fulfill my dream and being a woman I started teaching English to underprivileged girls at my home.   After that I started doing social work by working for NGOs like Pinkeshe Foundation which worked on menstrual hygiene and Consumer Rights Organization. Not only that I collect old clothes, food or anything useful and do distribution drives of my own. I organize drawing and debate competitions in government schools to promote ‘beti bachao, beti padhao’. Since childhood, I wanted to help people who are in need. I have tried to inherit this quality of mine in my daughters as well just like the way my parents did.   I have won awards from organizations like social impact award, women of worth award. Last year I finally got an opportunity and participated in Mrs. India Homemaker and crossed all the hurdles and won the title of MRS. INDIA HOMEMAKER INTERNATIONAL 2020 by god’s blessings.   So, I would like to conclude by saying that being a homemaker is not the end of your dreams. Please follow your dreams in every situation of life no matter what. “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
