Dr. Anureeta Wadhawan is an empowered woman who dons many hats. The Chairperson of I Can foundation (Delhi Chapter) is a compassionate and strong person, who finds time to serve the underprivileged along with a successful practice. Her unflinching efforts have been the cornerstone of helping hundreds of less fortunate people to reclaim their social, economic and political rights.   The Consultant Ophthalmologist cum MBA (hospital administration) and prominent social activist has always been motivated to serve and credits her supportive family with her success and fame. Her life changed once she realized that she was in a position to turn her life around in her own way by believing in herself. The drive to do more and succeed in her profession kept her passionate about her progress in both the social and medical field.   The recent Corona virus pandemic has brought her into the epicenter of the massive effort to contain the loss of lives. Dr. Wadhawan has forged to the fore by applying herself towards the service of afflicted patients, even when she is not from this field of medicine. Putting all thoughts of personal safety away from her mind, she has plunged into the war like situation with gusto.   The Corona Warriors, as they are called are battling the deadly disease at the forefront. Doctors are putting safety concerns aside and treating patients in every waking hour. Dr. Wadhawan is a shining beacon of hope for the underprivileged and she holds the torch for liberating the needy from pain and suffering.  The exemplary perseverance she exhibits is the cynosure of many eyes.   She has been awarded many prestigious honors like The Atal Bihari Swasthya  Samman 2019 and the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini  Award 2019. Doctor par excellence and a beautiful human being, Dr. Anureeta Wadhawan is a role model for every young girl that wants to dissolve gender barriers!

THE TRADITIONAL FASHIONISTA – ANKUSHA SHARMA

The best part of an Indian is that whatever they do in life, they never forget their values and cultures. This makes them different and a successful as well as a good human being. Ankusha Sharma, who is young-age fashion designer based out of England is a diploma holder from Shramik Vidyapeeth, Jammu. She has recently showcased “Dogra Bridal Outfit” at Asian Bridal Show in the Birmingham, UK. Her courage and attachment towards her root was showcased in the form of traditional bridal dress of Jammu, which the models displayed at the ramp in the full house. The dogra bridal outfit was introduced on stage through ‘JA Fashions’, label owned by Ankusha. She enthusiastically expresses her feelings towards this successful attempt, “This was for the first time a Dogra traditional bridal outfit was on display during the Asian Bridal Show in England. There was great response from the audience as everyone looked eager to have picture with the Dogra bridal Model.” Daughter of Chaitanya Prabhu and Sudershan Sharma Ankusha is born and brought up in Reasi of Jammu & Kashmir in India. After completing her basic education, she studied master’s degree in English Literature at University of Jammu and later on pursued specialized course in fashion designing & dress making. She got married here and later on in year 2010 she moved to Wolverhampton, England with her husband where she is currently staying and doing her work. Member of IDS (International Dogra Society), London, she has recently been honoured ‘Pride of India’ title by the Hon’ble Mayor of Harrow Nitin Parekh. She has also worked as an executive officer in NGO for 2 years named ‘Jammu Samaj Vikas Sanstha’ for rural areas women welfare. In a very short but remarkable journey, here panache has left a significant footprint in the London fashion industry. At the mecca of fashion where brand speaks one’s identity, Ankusha is real go-getter who knows her vision and the way to achieve it amicably.
