WE FEED THEM LIKE FAMILY MEMBERS : KRITIDS

Kriti Dhir is a Delhi based creative Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist having professional training in all kinds of make-up and hair requirements. She is proficient in producing creative and technically correct visual representations. She runs a salon named KritiDS in Delhi. During this pandemic Covid-19, Kriti is on a philanthropy mission. As she says, “I love cooking but I never got time to cook because of my heavy work schedule. So, this two months time gave me a chance to cook at home. I use to put my recipes on my Instagram and people loved it. Seeing so many people follow my recipes, I thought why not put this to some greater use and take an initiative to help the needy by distributing healthy home-cooked meals to them. I wanted them to taste some delicious food I was making for my family. So I decided to cook ‘chole chawal’ for them. My mom and my fiancée helped me in executing this philanthropy thought. I also asked my Instagram followers to take part in this initiative and many of my followers joined in. They made the same dish and distributed food parcels near their houses. I was really happy that my small initiative could fill a lot of stomachs. ”   As she further adds, “I would like people to do this often. This way, we can help a lot of people in need. Along with me other popular MUAs of Delhi Ekta Bakshi & Parul Garg helped me to complete this mission. All I can say that a small effort goes long way.”

We in Delhi too were facing the brunt of lockdown. On 2nd April, 2020, team PC Media received a message saying, “Due to complete lockdown imposed by British Government, the large number of Indian students are in self -isolation, crammed into packed hostels with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. We have not protective masks, gloves and sanitizers. We are worried about contracting the deadly corona virus. Many of us lost our part-time jobs, facing financial difficulties. We have no money to pay rent or buy food. Apart from the High Commission of India in London, Rashimi Mishra, founder and director of Inspiring Indian Women ( IIW), UK is providing us all necessary help. She is real friend in need. Please write to P.M. of India to save us. We are dying to return India.” As we were working on the special issue of Beauty & The Best magazine to depict the deeds of’ UNSUNG HEROS OF CORONAVIRUS WAR’ we instructed our representative at London to file a report on Rashimi Mishra. For quarantine we have provided accommodations to a good number of them with counseling. We are sharing with them various webinar links, meditation and chanting links. IN THE INTEREST OF HUMANKIND THE SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS NEEDS TO BE CHECKED AT ANY COST – UMESH DUTT

It was a pleasant, nice, inspiring, motivating and fruitful meeting with Umesh Dutt team of PC Media is still on global mission to find out such deserving personalities who have done their best and emerged as examples by serving the sufferers of lockdown in their respective fields. Our team is meeting with the cross section of society in general and industrialists, business persons and workers in particular because they have been hit hard in COVID-19. If the kind of steps initiated by Umesh Dutt were taken by other capable industrialists, business persons, the situation in country would have been certainly different. The country might have got relief from the plight that the migrant workers faced during the lockdown period. Delhi based successful, respected social entrepreneur Umesh Dutt is a highly learned and to the core a gentleman. He is articulate and motivator. He is smart in look and noble in deed. He and her spouse Meenakshi Dutt (globally renowned make up expert and vice President, Delhi Salon owner Welfare Association) run a chain of parlors and academies providing beauty education. Lockdown was a thunder on the beauty business. Talking to Beauty & The Best, Umesh Dutt revealed, ” Salons and parlors operating in Delhi provide employment to around 3 lakh people. Most of employees are from middle or lower middle class families. A good number of them belong to other states. Complete shutdown of parlors and salons for about two months due to lockdown resulted the most serious and challenging situation for owners and workers both. There is a statement of Director General, CII, Chandrajit Banerjee,” While the lockdown was necessary to mitigate the impact of corona virus on the population, it had dire implementation for economic activity.” But the plight of migrant workers has pushed other corona virus – related issues in the background. Heart-rending visuals of migrant labourers caught the national attention. Business activities were stopped. Employers themselves were in financial trouble. This situation compelled the workers to begin their long-march to home . Umesh Dutt says, “We were facing a lot of problems. We had to pay a hefty sum of amount to meet rent, electric bill and other expenses. Inspite of that we extended helping hands to our employees. We paid them 50 percent of their salaries and other essential welfare measures.” As a result no employee migrated to their home states. ” We donated in PM Care fund and gave our ‘ Sewa’ to Gurudwaras to help Sikh community, who were feeding innumerable people daily. We served needy, too, living around our vicinity”, he added. Our fact finding team confirms that majority of entrepreneurs of beauty sector throughout the country, had adopted the same humanitarian approach to their employees. Umesh Dutt assured, “The entire parlors and salons will operate with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). We know our responsibility. In the interest of humankind the spread of corona virus has to be checked at any cost.”Beauty world showed its beauty during lockdown.

MAKERS OF BEAUTY QUEENS – ROSE MAROK

Rose Marok, born and brought up in a very little town called Nanakmatta in district Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand India. Moved to UK 16 years ago and now live in a little village called Hampton in Arden just outside Solihull Birmingham. Before moving to Solihull she lived in Handsworth Birmingham for 10 years. As says Marok, “My birth place Nanakmatta is a holy place as it is directly connected to two of our Gurus (Sikh gurus) first guru Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the sixth Guru Guru Har Gobind Singh ji. Growing up here was a privilege, everyone knew everyone. I was a very popular little girl, mostly because of the way I looked. My dad tells me that the day I was born everyone from hospital came to see me as they had never seen a baby with blue eyes, blonde hair and white as snow with bright pink cheeks, hence I got the name Rose. I am number three of four siblings and we have always shared a very strong bond. Having spent most of my childhood in boarding school as our little town didn’t have very good schools, I faced a lot of challenges and learnt a lot. After finishing schooling, I went for further studies in Punjab, a completely new place for me. Even though I come from a typical Sikh family, cultural difference was huge. But it was fun. I joined KMV college to do BSc (Biology, chemistry and English). But as I can’t just stick to one think even here, I decided to join NCC Air wing. I enjoyed Aeromodelling and more so enjoyed flying them in open fields with my seniors. After finishing my education, I got introduced to my husband and got married and moved to the UK . This was a major change in my life.” After moving to the UK, Marok decided to work with her husband in his dental practice. So, she had to pick up all the skills. She started from reception then worked the way up. Today her official title is office/HR manager. She ventured into beauty business while she was on maternity leave with her second child and opened a beauty salon. This progressed into 2 running salons, which she subsequently sold after running them successfully for few years. Today she is happily married to her wonderful husband with two beautiful kids. As she says further, “I couldn’t have asked for more in life. 2019 brought another milestone in my life and i entered MRS India UK . After winning the crown and title of Mrs India UK classic, I got the opportunity to represent the United Kingdom as Mrs United kingdom International in Mrs International in West Virginia. I wanted this platform, to allow me to meet a new group of people, expose me to other parts and avenues that I always wanted to explore and help me do something for the betterment of people around the world if possible. Mrs India UK has spring boarded me into the areas where I can use my natural abilities and people skills, gained over many years, and make a positive difference in this world and show my children that one person can make a difference and that I am making the world better by being the change. The whole journey of Mrs India UK has been an exceptional journey for me, and 2020 is a very special year for me. Being the director Mrs India UK 2020 I would like to encourage other women out there to come and experience the journey that I have been on. Women empowerment comes to my mind and more and more women should support each other. I am hoping this will be a platform to encourage this.” Marok is equally involved in so many areas as women’s health, domestic violence , mental health issues , cleaning up oceans and so many others. As she concludes, “I want to make this world a better place for my children , and in this current climate of ~ me too, me first , sectarianism and rising racism , I feel we have to speak up as individuals and women especially to be the change we want to see in the World as a whole. “

Senstional Shimmers

Very Me Peach Me Body Glow by Oriflame Age Preventing sun lotion by Skeyndor Colour Crush Eyeshadow by The Body Shop Oriflame Diamond Cellular Illuminating Exfoliator True colour blush & Eyeshadow by Street Wear Deep Moisturizing Cream FII by Skeyndor Shimmer, also referred to as highlighter, luminizer and illuminator, is what gives you that dewy glow of youthful radiance. If you look at a photo of a woman with no shimmer, and compare it to a photo with shimmer, you will notice how dull a complexion can look without it. However, you must use shimmer with caution since it draws attention to anything it touches. Focus on your best features, such as brow bones, cheekbones, and lips. One exception to this rule is when used under the eyes to cover dark circles, as subtle shimmer will reflect light, and help to conceal. Shimmer, like most makeup, comes in different colors and textures. There are cream, powder and liquid shimmers, each of which are applied with either a brush or your fingertips. A popular way to apply shimmer makeup is to trace the shape of a “3” on your face starting at your temple. This will highlight your face in all the right places. Make sure to blend well, as you don’t want to see any visible lines. This application style works best with powder makeup.

Marriage to Fitness

Well! Wedding is close and the bride is loaded with expectations to look best on the Big Day. You have to look good in terms of slim, glowing and fresh as ever. To couple this trio together it is important that you eat healthy and start a workout regime. Make sure that this entire regime is first of all realistic and will fit into your shopping and preparation schedule. Never set an unrealistic program. And then be sure you do not end up with a regime that compromises that glow. Here’s how to manage your fitness and beauty at the same time. Eat healthy for all the right reasons. You have a reason to be highly motivated during this event. So junk goes out of our window. Stock up on all the seasonal fruits around you. Fresh fruits especially citrus ones like oranges and berries of all kinds will give you a rosy look and help you cut on the fat near your abdomen. Equally important is to increase fiber in the form of fresh salads with fresh veggies; these will boost your metabolism, and give you a fresh look on the D day. Never try to extreme diet or starve yourself in a frenzy to lose weight. You have to eat in small portions and eat healthy. Breakfast should be the heaviest meal of your day and try to eat as light as possible during dinner. When you move about shopping, try to stay away from fried and oily snacks at shopping carts located in markets. Try to find a juice corner for some fresh vegetable juice or carry Tiffin consisting of strawberries or chopped papaya. This will be a healthier snack. Just in case you were not able to carry your fruit, try to locate a healthy snack, you would rather go for a spinach corn sandwich at Café Coffee Day rather than having cholla bathura. Go slow on chocolates too. Too much chocolate may swell you up and none the less may give you a pimple on the face. A square or two in the entire day is more than sufficient to give you instant energy. Second word of wisdom is to stay away from cold drinks on the run. Carry your water bottle. Water is the essence of life and a hydrated skin is the best way to look good for your wedding. So make sure to drink at least 3 liters on an average each day to keep your bowels clean and feel fresh first thing in the day. Have it in the form of plain water, fresh juices, soups made at home and even coconut water to look radiating. Apart from the cold drinks, watch the amount and the kind of alcohol intake you have. 30 to 60 ml of red wine in a week will not harm you. You may have a restricted quantity of any kind but large pegs of whisky, beer or any other kind of alcohol is not a good idea just before your wedding. This is a very important tip for the bridegrooms who end up drinking tons of alcohol at bachelor parties. Watch what you drink and how much you drink. You need to stay fresh and hydrated. Now if we look at your diet, having low fat dairy products and low fat poultry such as chicken and fish will give you optimum nutrition and choice for your main meals. Stay away from red meats, gravy meats like butter chicken, and do not have fried chicken. Having cottage cheese and skimmed milk is a good idea and will keep you full during the day. Most importantly small grandma remedies like kesar milk will give you a pretty bridal radiance on your face. Do not have too much coffee or tea though, having green tea is good idea for sure and is definitely on the go fitness list. There are many flavors of green tea like rose tea and jasmine tea which have health and beauty benefits each. Go slow on heavy carbohydrates such as rice helpings, ghee laden pulses, and even too much bread. Having a good helping of proteins will definitely make your waist fit into your selected designer outfit. Now we come to our planned workout regime. First you should decide whether you are motivated enough to monitor yourself or you need help. In case you are a workout kind of a person, then you can choose the plan best suited to you. While some are comfortable with yoga, some find pleasure walking at the sports complex. Some may like aerobics while they would be grooms like to hit the gym. It is entirely your choice, but make sure either you do it regularly on your own or you get a trainer hired to get it done. The second key point is to be regular. You have to do it regularly. Doing it once a week is no good. You need to workout at least every alternate day in the week. The regime can be planned at at least 20 minutes a day for the brides and at least 40 minutes of the day for the bridegrooms. This will keep you charged and bring you in shape. Aim at overall shape and do not worry about target areas as they will fall in shape automatically. You need to look shapely and workout adds to the glow on your face too. Apart from workout and healthy eating, the fitness of the would be couple requires one more important key. You need to be relaxed. Most of the times the girls end up getting stressed from the never ending shopping spree and the anxiety related to what after marriage issues. You need to be at peace to be your best on the wedding day. SO it is advisable to do a 5 minutes meditation each day. Your day may be hectic as hell, but still you should give 5 minutes to yourself. You will not only fell
